I made the base of this sign from plywood and a reflective road sign. On top of that I put a few of the John deere patches that had accumulated over the years. Down below is a pic of me (age 5) on "Pepa's " shoulders  , as always sporting his John Deere hat. The other pic is of my father when he was around my age (almost 27!), sitting on a mini Deere tractor. 

I created this neon for and in dedication to my Grandfather John Calvert , who retired from John Deere in 1985.  Also in memorial to my father Doug, who passed on in 2001. This was a piece at my BFA Senior Show at Alfred University in 2002.
